Stand With Senator Taylor and Support Hard-Working Iowa Families
It’s been over 7 years since the minimum wage was last increased in Iowa. In that time, wages have stagnated as prices and corporate profits have steadily risen. Recent polls show that 70% of Iowans favor an increase, but House Republicans refuse to listen, and have dug in their heels against ANY increase!
Let’s stand together and let them know this is unacceptable. Please sign our letter below to stand with us. At the beginning of the next legislative session, I’ll personally deliver this petition to House Republicans in the state legislature and ask them to heed the will of the voters.
Iowa House Speaker Linda Upmeyer
CC: Iowa House Republican Caucus
Iowa voters have made clear that raising the minimum wage is a top priority. Recently, polling has shown that more than 70% of voters support an increase. Iowa Senate Democrats have done their part and passed a measure to raise the wage, only to have those efforts rebuffed by house Republicans.
We, the undersigned, urge you to reconsider your position and help give hard working Iowa families a raise they need and deserve. As you know, more and more Iowans face rising costs of living and stagnant wages. We must take action to address this crisis head-on while growing our economy and adding more jobs.
State Senator Rich Taylor
